Free Mental Health Tests

When you have been struggling, it can be hard to put your experience into words. You might wonder whether your worry, low mood, exhaustion, or difficulty concentrating is something to seek help with. You may also be trying to understand how you feel in your relationship.

These short questionnaires offer a starting point. Each asks about a specific area of your experience and gives you an immediate result, with an explanation of what it may mean. All six self-checks on this website are intended for adults aged 18 and over.

You do not need to provide your name or email address. The questionnaires calculate your results in your browser and do not send your answers or scores to Village Therapy. Nobody monitors your responses.

Anxiety Test

Some worry is useful, and some follows you to bed. The GAD-7 asks seven questions about anxiety symptoms over the past two weeks.

Depression Test

Have you been feeling low, drained, or less interested in things you usually enjoy? The PHQ-9 asks nine questions about depressive symptoms over the past two weeks.

Adult ADHD Test

Do you regularly struggle to finish tasks, organise your day, remember appointments, or sit still? The six-question ASRS v1.1 asks about your experiences over the past six months and indicates whether further ADHD assessment may be helpful.

Relationship Satisfaction Test

Perhaps you feel distant from your partner, miss enjoying time together, or wonder whether you are both happy in the relationship. The four-question Couples Satisfaction Index offers a brief snapshot of your own relationship satisfaction.

Burnout Test

Exhaustion that doesn’t lift after a weekend off is worth paying attention to. The Copenhagen Burnout Inventory explores personal exhaustion, with additional questions about work and client-related exhaustion when relevant.

PTSD Test

After a traumatic experience, you may notice unwanted memories, avoidance, or a persistent feeling of being on guard. The PC-PTSD-5 starts with a question about traumatic experiences, followed, when applicable, by five questions about symptoms over the past month.

What Can a Self-check Tell You?

A questionnaire can help you notice patterns, describe difficulties, and start a conversation with a healthcare professional. It cannot provide a diagnosis or fully capture your circumstances. The relationship check measures satisfaction and cannot decide whether you should stay together or separate.

Your result is one piece of information. How you feel, how long you have been struggling, and how daily life is affected also matter. You can ask for support at any score. Choose a questionnaire that relates to your concern; you do not need to complete them all.

If you are considering a formal ADHD assessment, speak with your GP about the next step.
