Self-esteem
Understand harsh self-judgment and build a more balanced view of yourself through reflection and practical changes.

Therapy for self-esteem
A small mistake can become evidence that you are incompetent. A compliment gets dismissed, while criticism stays with you for days. You may compare yourself with others, avoid things you would like to try, or work hard to make sure no one sees you struggling.
In therapy, we explore how you learned to evaluate yourself and what keeps that evaluation so harsh. We might look at perfectionism, comparison, past criticism, relationships, and the standards you hold yourself to. We can also notice the situations where you feel more confident and understand what helps.
The work may include questioning familiar judgments, taking manageable risks, practising boundaries, and allowing yourself to be a beginner. Over time, these experiences can give you a broader and more balanced view of yourself.
Self-esteem often changes through what you do as well as what you think. We will connect the conversations in therapy with steps you can take in daily life.
