Overthinking
Understand why you get caught in mental loops and practise stepping back from rumination, worry, and constant reviewing.

Therapy for overthinking
You go over the conversation again, try to predict every possible outcome, or keep researching a decision that still does not feel settled. Thinking promises an answer, but you end up tired and further from knowing what to do.
In therapy, we look at what the thinking is trying to accomplish. You may be looking for certainty, trying to prevent a mistake, or hoping that understanding something completely will make an uncomfortable feeling go away. We can explore when reflection helps and when it turns into a loop.
The work might involve noticing those loops earlier, tolerating unfinished questions, making decisions with the information you have, or bringing attention back to what is happening around you. We can also examine the fear or self-criticism that makes it difficult to stop reviewing.
If repetitive thinking is connected to anxiety, depression, or OCD, we will take that into account. The aim is to free up attention for the life you want to participate in.
